Michael Coffey has been working with wood for over 40 years and is known as one of the last true master woodworkers still producing work today. His signature style and recurring motifs pave the way to him becoming one of the greats he looked up to as a child - Nakashima, Castle, Esherick, Maloof.
Born and raised in New York City, Michael worked as a community organizer and consultant throughout the United States and Mexico before focusing on woodworking full time. Since 1967, Michael has been making exceptional pieces of furniture and interior architecture for private and corporate clients, institutions, galleries and designers and has participated in over 100 shows in galleries, museums and craft expositions. His work has appeared in numerous publications including House Beautiful, House & Garden, Interior Design, The New York Times and Forbes.
